MGEN (La Mutuelle Générale de l’Éducation Nationale) provides health insurance to three million clients making it the foremost health insurance company in France, employing nearly nine thousand people. Not only does this colossus provide a fundamental insurance service to its clients, it also runs thirty-three health and social institutions (such as hospitals, mental institutions, health and physiotherapy centres, and homes for the elderly). It also devotes itself to research, prevention and health education.
